Anyone who walks into the cemetery says that it is a strange place. Being right next to a busy road and housing estate it is strange that all noise disappears once you are inside. Many people are said to have seen and heard things that can not be explained. I am one of them.

On the 28th of august 2002 myself and a friend were walking near the cemetry. My friend has family who are buried there so we went in to check the graves were clean. As we approached the gate, which is the only entrance and exit, we saw an old man sitting on a bench in the far corner. As we got further into the cemetry we looked again and he had gone. There was no sign of him and he hadn't passed us to be able to get out. We thought this was very strange and it did creep us out a little but what really got to us was happened next. To get to my friends families graves we had to pass several small childrens graves. As we walked past we could the sound of children playing and laughing there was also the feeling that we weren't alone. We looked around but the cemetery was empty, there were no children to be seen in the streets near the cemetery and the road was quiet. This is not the only time I have had an experience in this cemetery and i am planning an investigation to prove that there are more than one spirit haunting this place. I will post my results and findings when I have them.

I stared work at Lumley castle hotel in 1992, and immediatly noted some odd happenings. I sat on the cloakroom in the stair well for the first month from 6pm-1am every night.

Its a darkened corridor with access to the bar, resturant and kitchen. EVERY night I had the feeling I was being watched, and heard footsteps on the hard floor, yet no-one appeared.

Later in my years there I stared shifts on housekeeping. I was given rooms 64-68 these rooms are high in one of the turrets and as the youngest and fittest there at the time I was given these rooms to clean.  In one room, in the corner is a door, which when entering looks like the enterance to a set of spiral stairs. When I opened the door I noticed the floor had been filled in recently (so no acess to the steps below), and that this small area was filled with smoke.  I waved it away but it didn't move.  I switched the light on, and the mist hit the floor.  I switched the light off, went to clean some of the room yet went back. The mist was there yet this time when I switched the light on it disapeared slowly. I never went back in that room, or the others in that turret.  Items moved, items broke yet were found fully repaired in another obscure part of the hotel. i was fired from housekeeping not long after for lack of concentration.

Voices have been recorded on one set of spirals, about 4 years ago. These stairs are near to a room where kids have been heard playing. I have stayed in it and heard them, as has the asistant general manager who stays in when the hotel is closed.

Bottles have moved while being in boxes seemilngly secure.

A pint glass once caught the attention of two of us while we were setting up. It moved off the shelf, foated for about 2 seconds and smashed to the floor.

My hair has been pulled while there were two witness' there.

Orbs have been caught on digital camera as well as on a camcorder.
